Dental Crowns
Dental crowns - dental restorations designed to rehabilitate and protect compromised teeth. These custom-fitted caps encase the visible portion of a tooth above the gum line, providing a durable and natural-looking solution for various dental issues. Made from materials such as porcelain, ceramic, or metal alloys, dental crowns serve to strengthen weakened teeth, restore those with significant decay or fractures, and enhance overall tooth aesthetics. Whether preserving the integrity of a tooth following root canal treatment or supporting dental bridges, crowns play a pivotal role in both functional and cosmetic dental restoration.
Bridges
Dental bridges are fixed dental prosthetics designed to replace one or more missing teeth by bridging the gap between adjacent natural teeth or dental implants. Consisting of artificial teeth, dental crowns or abutments.Bridges are custom-made to match the patient's natural teeth in colour, shape, and size. The adjacent healthy teeth or dental implants on either side of the gap serve as support for the bridge. Dental bridges offer both functional and aesthetic benefits, restoring proper chewing function, maintaining tooth alignment, and enhancing the overall appearance of the smile.
Fillings
Dental fillings - restorative materials are used to repair and restore teeth that have been damaged by decay or fractures. The process involves removing the decayed or damaged portion of the tooth and filling the resulting cavity with a suitable dental material. Our practice commonly uses composite resin
(tooth-colored material) or porcelain. The choice of filling material depends on factors such as the extent of the damage, the location of the tooth, and aesthetic preferences. Dental fillings not only address the structural integrity of the tooth but also prevent further decay by sealing off the affected area.
Sealants
Dental sealants are thin, protective coatings applied to the chewing surfaces of molars and premolars to prevent the development of cavities. Sealants are typically made of a clear or tooth-colored resin material and are applied to teeth, creating a smooth surface that is easier to clean. The sealant acts as a barrier, protecting the enamel from the acids and bacteria that can lead to tooth decay. This preventive measure is particularly beneficial for children and teenagers, as their newly erupted permanent teeth can be sealed to safeguard against cavities during the vulnerable early years of oral development. Sealants are a
non-invasive and cost-effective way to promote long-term dental health by reducing the risk of decay in the grooved surfaces of the teeth.
Dentures
Dentures are removable dental appliances designed to replace missing teeth and restore oral functionality and aesthetics. There are two main types of dentures: complete dentures, which replace all teeth in the upper or lower jaw, and partial dentures, which replace only a few missing teeth and anchor onto existing natural teeth.
Complete dentures: consist of artificial teeth set in a gum-coloured acrylic base that rests on the gums
Partial dentures: incorporate both artificial teeth and a framework to attach to existing teeth for stability.
Dentures play a crucial role in improving chewing ability, speech, and facial appearance for individuals with missing teeth. They require proper maintenance, periodic adjustments, and may take some time to adjust to for optimal comfort and function. Advances in dentistry also offer implant-supported dentures, providing increased stability and a more natural feel by attaching to dental implants anchored in the jawbone.
Full Mouth Rehab
Full mouth rehabilitation, also known as full mouth reconstruction or restoration, is a comprehensive dental treatment that aims to address and restore the function, health, and aesthetics of all teeth in both the upper and lower jaws. This extensive procedure is often recommended for individuals with complex dental issues, such as multiple missing teeth, severe decay, bite problems, or structural damage due to trauma. Full mouth rehabilitation is a comprehensive and transformative process that goes beyond cosmetic enhancements to address functional and health-related concerns. By combining various dental disciplines, this approach aims to create a fully restored and balanced oral environment, ultimately improving the patient's overall well-being and quality of life.
Implants
Dental implants are artificial teeth, typically made of titanium, that are surgically implanted into the jawbone. They provide an alternative to dentures or bridges and can be used to replace one or more missing teeth. Implants look and feel more natural than other dental solutions because they fuse with the bone in the jaw and become a permanent part of the mouth. They also provide a stronger hold for prosthetic teeth.
PRF
PRF stands for Platelet-Rich Fibrin. Platelet-Rich Fibrin is a concentrate of platelets and growth factors derived from a patient's own blood. It is used in various dental procedures to promote tissue healing and regeneration.
